If you like reading books, fantasizing about fictional characters, and dreaming of having a large library of your own, then you got yourself a new friend. As much as I like reading books, I love to watch Kdrama and BL series. They are my guilty pleasure and would spend my whole time watching them rather than going outside and hanging out. Excluding all that, I am a huge fan of BTS and have been listening to K-pop since 2011-12. Calm, upbeat, and Lofi music are my everyday best friend.
So, basically “WhalienIsle” name came from the inspiration of BTS’s song Whalien-52 and a K-drama named ExtraOrdinary Attorney Woo. Since, this blog is a mixture of two words – Whalien and Isle. The idea behind having this name is that when they are combined it represents the place where Whalien lives.
Whalien is the loneliest whale in the world and Isle is a small portion of the island. “Whalien 52” is a song about being lonely and has been used as a metaphor to represent loneliness. Getting inspiration from that, I have used Whalien as a metaphor for my own loneliness and the feeling that comes with talking but never being heard, questioned but never understood. I want this blog to represent me in some kind of way and become my voice.
There are 7 billion people around the world, and maybe there are people around the world like me who have the same interest as me but don’t have anyone. I wish to find those people through this blog.
WhalienIsle is created in the hope to connect people who like the same kind of interests as me. It is a comfort place where I post about my best obsessions books, blogging, Kdramas, and BL. And I hope that it becomes a comfort space for you as well and a friend for those who want to be heard and to be understood.
